Yes. I know. I've been saying it. For months. But for real now, here it is. Today! "tryhard"

You've heard most of the songs already (Get With Me, You Poor Thing, Irrelevant, Dumb Enough, I Know You...) But now, for the FIRST time ever, these tunes are all together in one pretty little package 📦 A proper project: tryhard 🎁

In addition to the 2025 singles I've put out, there’s also one new track 🫣 and a bonus extended track that I included bc although it's way too long for a radio placement or casual listening lol, it's an accurate representation of the way my band performs live — lots of jazz-influenced solos and in-the-moment creative decisions. Plus I just love it heehee

The visual world of tryhard is inspired by my personal journey from high school overachiever.. to disappointing adult.

Oh high school! The golden days!! I knew who I was! where I was going! what I was gonna do! how I was going to do it! The world was my oyster, I had no baggage. Only potential. The all-star theatre kid,  choir president, student council representative, sophomore class favorite, straight A student,  all AP classes, teacher's pet, etc, etc, now im just bragging, etc.🌟🧑🏻‍🎓

I was confident, self-assured. I had big city dreams. I was FOR SURE going places. Then: cue a series of unfortunate events. I lost all sense of direction was left spinning my wheels 🚲 🤡

This self-pitying spiral, this loss of identity, reminds me of the archetypal washed-up athlete🏈 That #1 quarterback who peaked in high school, tore his ACL, and now drinks Bud Light on his mom's couch in his hometown.

tryhard is the story of an athlete past their prime, the flailing effort to keep going after the glory days. The tension between burnout and resilience, the competition between who I was and who I’m still trying to become.

🏆 The Emotional Core

This collection of songs is unified by themes of hope, cynicism, and trying to forget the past. It’s honest, vulnerable, and a little self-indulgent (as all victim mentality is). This EP is a reflection of my constant struggle with post-adolescent pessimism: trying to appreciate my history while looking toward the future with some shred of confidence. To resurrect the try-hard I know is still in there somewhere.

tryhard is what happens when you give 110% and find yourself in last place... but the only thing left to do is rally.
