About
Jessica Healey is an independent artist born and raised in Fort Worth. She has emerged as one of Austin's most distinctive new voices as an official SXSW performer and a recipient of the Austin Live Music Fund grant.
Compared to singer-songwriters such as Madison Cunningham, Joni Mitchell, and Corinne Bailey Rae, Jess writes with jarring self-awareness, laying folk storytelling over jazz harmony. Her music is emotionally raw and musically sophisticated, yet totally approachable.
In July 2025, Jess released her debut EP "tryhard," which reveals the mental gymnastics of a striver: overthinking, overreacting, and over-caring. The EP contains groovy horns, bittersweet piano, and enough emotional analysis to give any navel-gazer a run for their money.
With impeccable intonation, wry wit, and a magnetic onstage presence, Jess invites live audiences into both the humor and the heaviness of her mind. Beyond the stage, Jess is a big fan of running half-marathons, reading self-help books, not cooking, and her golden retriever Romeo.
