Wowza!

I have managed to fit an entire year in the last two months. Started a new job. Started working with a nonprofit. Snowboarded mucho. Training for a half marathon. Won a grant. Writing new songs again! Loving life again! In the wise words of Jennette Mccurdy, "There's a difference between wanting to keep something and not being able to get rid of it." Q1 '26 taught me that getting rid of stuff which "no longer serves me" only makes room for way, way, way better stuff lol. so much better.

so much better - throw back to when I played Elle Woods in high school and butchered this song bc i was a late bloomer and my mix resonance was weak but somehow they still cast me as the lead despite also not even being blonde 🌟

Won a grant? What?

Yes, it is true. I won the Austin Live Music Grant. I'm fucking thrilled. I've applied to many grants trying to help soften the blow of producing music, and that work has borne fruit. With this here grant, I can finish the EP that we recorded in AUGUST!!! Guys, this makes me SO so happy.

Now that I'm fucking loaded, I've been

laying down background vocals at Three Hound Sounds, a studio in San Marcos founded and ran by Sam Hinds, a gem of a human. Sam engineered, mixed and mastered my first five acoustic releases at Three Hound Sounds. Back when I was an anxious, slobbery mess completely unsure of myself in every way (more than I am now), he patiently and reassuringly nudged me across the finish line to releasing these songs into the wild. I couldn't recommend his professional space and skilled services more!

Hoping maybe for a May release? Idk if that gives me enough time to prep PR / ads by then but tbh who cares bc May is my bday and releasing The Wheel sounds like a great bday present to me. I'm realizing that it doesn't really matter and I shouldn't rush myself bc what's another MONTH when i want it to be really good. and again, I'm fucking loaded. #AustinLive

What is on this EP?🌀

A batch of really special songs played by Austin's best live string section (invoke) and best boy band (Dill, Matt, Liam, Grant on guitar). These tunes are less boy-centric than the last EP and work through some higher-level concepts like self-sabotage, mindfulness, gratitude, vacillation. And boys.

The first of these tunes to be released is called The Wheel, and it's about AI, and you can hear a sneak peak of it LIVE anytime by coming out to a show!! We've got some monsters approaching in May, go peep the mf calendar.

Wherefore art thou Romeo? 🐶

Btw that actually means "Why are you 'Romeo'" bc Juliet was sad that Romeo was a Montague, not wondering where he was🌹I did tho put "WHERE ART THOU" on Romeo's tag which was just brilliant on my part

Said Romeo is great. Cucumbers mixed with every meal keeps him healthy, happy and interested in the world. I think my new day job is good for him because when I go into the office twice a week, he goes to daycare. It's hard to tell for sure if he likes it because he won't tell me outright.

We redid my office (repainted, new rug, new desk, bookshelves, etc) and he adores being in here with this rug that smells like warehouse. Look!!
